Central Illinois Foodbank Receives 6,400 Pounds of Ground Pork

The Central Illinois Foodbank is continuing its 10 year anniversary of Pork Power, by receiving a 6,400 pound donation of Ground Pork. The donation comes from the Illinois Pork Producers Association, Illinois Corn Marketing Board, and the Illinois Soybean Association Checkoff Program. Public Relations Manager Ashely Earnest, Pork is filled with protein, and its great to give it out right around the holiday season.

 

 

A donation of 6,400 pound of ground pork is big deal, but Earnest says its also important to the community. She also mentions the success that Pork Power has seen over the last 10 years.

 

 

The 6,400 pounds of pork will go to 15 different counties across central and southern Illinois.
