Red Kettle Campaign Starting Soon

When shopping at the Taylorville Walmart or Kroger you might see the Red Kettle Campaign at the door as you pass.

The Taylorville Ministerial Association is taking part in the Red Kettle Campaign for the second year in a row. Pastor Bob Cook says this is a major fundraiser to help with emergency assistance in the community.

The more volunteers that come out to help the more money that can be raised. Cook says last year they brought in around $13,000 with the Red Kettle Campaign, with $11,000 staying in the community.

Pastor Bill Kerns says the Taylorville Ministerial Association got involved with the Red Kettle Campaign when he ran into a man in Litchfield at a meeting about homelessness.

Cook and Kerns appeared as guests on the Newstalk WTIM Morning Show.
