Taylorville Memorial Hospital Sponsoring Kids' Zone At Greater Taylorville Chamber Chillifest

The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Chillifest committee held a meeting Monday afternoon at the Chamber board room, as the event is less than a month away.  Chillifest on the Taylorville square is October 6th and 7th.

Committee chairs that oversee the many different parts of Chillifest, reported on progress as they finalize the pageants, entertainment, logistics, the Kids' Zone, and the Bags Tournament, among other things.

It was announced at Monday night's Chillifest committee meeting, that Taylorville Memorial Hospital will be this year's sponsor of the Kids' Zone, and will provide volunteers and supplies for that area both days.  Hospital C-E-O Kim Bourne was present at Monday night's meeting outlining how the hospital will be involved both financially and in providing volunteers for Kids' Zone, that will include many interactive booths.

Taylorville mayor Bruce Barry reported that the Bags Tournament has raised some 2-thousand dollars for prize money, toward their 5-thousand dollar goal.  Barry added that entrants for the 2 days of Bags competition, will be coming from as far away as California.

Craft vendors and chilli cooks, are both needed for this year's Greater Taylorville Chillifest.  Forms and related information can be downloaded at the event's web site chillifest-dot-info, that's chillifest with 2-L's.
