The U of I Extension Program in Taylorville has a class coming up all about how to properly preserve your food through canning.

 

Lisa Peterson is the Nutrition and Wellness Educator with the Extension, the class is called Yes You Can and the class is dedicated to canning tomatoes and will be a hands on experience.

 

 

There are multiple ways to preserve food, of all the ways Peterson says the one you want to avoid is open kettle canning as it is the most likely to get you sick.
