Taylorville Junior High Kiwanis Builders Club Sponsor Speaks to Kiwanis Club

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club heard about their sister club, the Taylorville Kiwanis Junior High Builders Club, during their weekly luncheon Tuesday.

Jacque Foil, a teacher at Taylorville Junior High School and sponsor for the Kiwanis Junior High Builders Club, was guest speaker.   Foil became involved in the Kiwanis Builders Club at the Junior High, a year after it was formed in 2006.

The Kiwanis Junior High Builders Club has around 15 members each year according to Foil.  The Club over its past 12 years has selected a different civic or non-profit project each year to not only work with, but raise money for.

Foil said this year, the Kiwanis Junior High Builders Club will be working with the non-profit Heartland Mini-Hoofs horse therapy program.

Foil added the Builders Club also does a lot with local nursing homes and other non-profit events in the community.

The Club meets once a month at Taylorville Junior High School.

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.  Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium.  For information on the club, go to taylorvillekiwanis.com.
