Agriculture was the focus during the annual Ag Day Luncheon Thursday at the 2018 Christian County Ag Fair at the Fairgrounds on Taylorville's south side.
Several hundred people attended the annual Ag Day Luncheon, sponsored by the Christian County Ag Group, which is a group of businesses and individuals that sponsor many events thru-out the year spotlighting the importance of agriculture to the Christian County economy.
The Mount Auburn Rustlers 4-H Club served the meal, which was catered by Country Girl Catering.
Guest speaker was Executive Director of the Illinois F-F-A Center, Mindy Bunselmeyer, who told the gathering she's responsible for training the new F-F-A state officers so they can represent agriculture around the state.
Bunselmeyer told the Christian County Ag Fair Ag Day Luncheon, that the Illinois F-F-A officers travel with other agriculture trade groups to Washington to promote agriculture in the national and state capitols. She said when those Illinois F-F-A representatives come into legislators' offices in their famous blue jackets, they immediately get noticed.
