Taylorville City Council Met Monday to Discuss Steak N Shake Incentives and Other Motions

The Taylorville City Council held its annual meeting this past Monday night. The council discussed, and passed multiple motions.

 

A motion to allow Fire Chief Crews to proceed with preventative maintenance and repair of TFD Truck One was approved with a vote of 9-0.

 

A motion to approve incentives to be offered to Steak N Shake drove a lot of the conversation during the meeting. A lot of debate was struck up about Steak N Shake being offered a 1% Sales Tax, and Mayor Barry further explained the matter.

 

 

The motion carried 6-2

 

A motion to approve incentives to be offered to Golden Real Estate of Illinois LLC was also carried 4-3.

 

Other motions that were carried were to allow Chief Hile to purchase a new police service dog, two Lidar Radar Systems, and a new 2018 Ford Police Interceptor. Also, motions carried to allow Chief Crews to hire a new volunteer Firefigher. Motions carried for the Lake and Airport include allowing Windell Surveying to complete a GPS survey at Boyd Dappert.

 

The Taylorville City Council holds two meetings per month, on the first and third Monday of each month.
