Taylorville School Board Carries Motion to Make Entire District K-4

The Taylorville School Board met on Monday night at the Administration Education Center, and discussed multiple topics involving the surrounding school system. First, Superintendent of Taylorville Schools Dr. Gregg Furstenau displayed pictures of what the new STEM Labs will look like at Taylorville High School. Dr. Furstenau on the opportunities this could provide for future students.

 

 

The board later moved on to a consideration of support staff evaluation which was approved unanimously by the board. Also approved unanimously was the consideration of resolution for allowance of inter-fund transfers. Following that, the 2018 paper bid was unanimously accepted by the board.

 

The largest discussion that took place was one revolving around the idea of moving the entire district to K-4 for the 2019-20 school year. Dr. Furstenau commented on what this means for the district moving forward.

 

 

After the motion cleared at a narrow 4-3 vote by the board, the meeting was adjourned. The Taylorville School Board meets on the second Monday of every month at 7 in the evening.
