UPDATED: Winter Storm Will Bring Snow and Freezing Rain

width=The Regional Radio listening area is under a Winter Storm Warning from 6 o'clock Friday evening until 6 o'clock Saturday.

A storm system has brought widespread locally heavy snow to central Illinois overnight into Saturday morning, depositing 6-12 inches from Jacksonville east-northeast through Danville. A mix of freezing rain, sleet and snow fell south of I-70. Another Arctic high pressure ridge will move into the Midwest for Sunday and Monday, sending wind chills as low as -20 across the area of Sunday night and Monday morning.

Be prepared for winter driving conditions and limited visibilities on slick snow and ice covered roads. Motorists should be prepared for snow-covered and hazardous roads. Drive with caution and plan on extra time to arrive at your destination.
