LEADership Program looks at Small Business Development

 

 width=Members of the 2015 Christian County LEADership program participated in a panel discussion on small business development, February 10 at the Christian County Extension Office in Taylorville.  The discussion was led by a group of local business leaders and moderated by Kevin Lust, Director of the Illinois Small Business Development Center at Lincoln Land Community College.  Business owners included:  Seth McMillan, McMillan Landscaping Co; Tammy Braye, Doc’s Maytag; J.I. McDowell, Angelo’s; Larry Peterson, Domino Engineering; Kris Newby, Newby Home Inspections and Construction Solutions; and, Stacy Funderburk, DVM, Countryside Veterinary Services. 

 

After the panel discussion ended, Mary Renner, with Christian County Economic Development, presented information on community and economic development initiatives taking place throughout the County.

 

At the previous meeting, held on February 3, the group toured health care and education facilities in Taylorville, which included Lincoln Land Community College, Taylorville Memorial Hospital, and Taylorville High School.  This coming week the group will tour the Christian County Mental Health Association's Developmental Center.
