Taylorville Alderman Make Quick Work of City Business in 15-Minute Session

It was a short 15-minute meeting of the Taylorville City Council Monday night in the Council chambers.


Aldermen OK'd a lease agreement with the Taylorville Fire Protection District for leasing a 2006 Ford F450 Crew Cab Rescue Truck; they OK'd spending just over 6-thousand dollars with B-and-W Dozer Salvage of Cowden to refurbish the city's 2000 Cat Backhoe. Council members Monday night OK'd an agreement with J-B Vending for vending services with the City to receive a 10-percent commission; and they directed City Attorney Rocci Romano to prepare an ordinance to seek sealed bids for the sale of the city's 1996 street sweeper, a 1988 Ford dump truck, and 3 trench boxes.


The Taylorville City Council Monday night OK'd seeking bids for their annual concrete and sidewalk replacement program, curb and gutter replacement, fuel and trash removal services; and approved the January 20th Tree Board minutes. They OK'd the lowest bids for chemicals for the city's water treatment plant, and paid bills totaling just over 316-thousand 350-dollars.
