Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 1/12/15

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Heather Smith, 28, of Stonington, was arrested on January 9th for possession of drug paraphernalia. Bond was set at $1,500.

Dianna L. Sloper, 40, of Taylorville, was arrested on January 110th for theft.

Nicholas A. Edwards, 33, of Edinburg, was arrested on January 10th for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Ashley N. Lowis, 30, of Morrisonville, was arrested on January 11th for driving with a suspended license. Bond was set at $2,500.

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Robert B. Laker, 40, of Taylorville, was arrested on January 4th for a DUI.

Kim E. Miller, 62, of Taylorville, was arrested on January 11th for domestic battery.

Donald R. Felton, 29, of Taylorville, was arrested on January 11th for methamphetamine delivery that was less than 5 grams, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacturing/delivery of cannabis.

On January 11th, at 1:20am a Taylorville Police Department officer located a male walking in the Marsango plaza parking lot. The male, Jared W. McConnell of Edinburg, was arrested for illegal consumption and released to his mother on a notice to appear.

On January 3rd, at approximately 1:15pm, J. Damarin, Pro Shop Owner, came to the Taylorville Police Department to report employee theft. Damarin said he learned through employees, managers and an inventory check that several items from his business were missing. One of his employees told him that he had seen some of the stolen items at a local scrap yard. Damarin told Taylorville Police Department he would like them to investigate the theft. He was given several blank statement forms to be filled out by employees. According to J. Damarin, the dollar value of the items exceeded several thousand dollars. The matter was forwarded to detectives. Subsequent to the investigation, Adam G. Brachear, 27, of Palmer, was arrested for theft of the amount of $300. He was lodged in the Christian County Sheriff’s Office in lieu of bond.

ACCIDENTS:

On January 11th, Michael L. White, 30, of Stonington, Sheila K. Crowder, 54, of Decatur and Tonya S. Bowsher, 42, of Stonington were waiting in the drive-thru at McDonald’s. Mary E. Cundiff, 80, of Taylorville was also in the drive-thru and was pulling up in line. Cundiff did not slow down and struck White, which in turn struck, Crowder, which in turn struck Bowsher, causing damage. All units were able to drive from the scene.
