Mutual Aide was Called to Assist with Fire East of Millersville Thursday Night

At 4:28 p.m., the Pana Fire Department was called to a fire with heavy smoke inside a large machine shed at 2181 East 700 North Road in Pana.

Upon arrival, a semi-trailer was located inside the machine shed burning.  A heater that had been placed under the semi to warm the engine had caught fire. Pana Fire Chief Rod Bland tells Regional Radio that the fire was contained to the shed and that the semi-trailer, owned by Steve Hoffman, was a total loss.  Mutual aid was received by the Owaneco Fire Department, Assumption Fire Department and the Taylorville Fire Department.
