Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 12-29-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Jonathan Hrabak, 25, of Herrick, was arrested on December 28th on a bond forfeiture warrant for issuance of warrant.

Wesley Rogers, 30, of Decatur, was arrested on December 27th for driving wih a suspended/revoked license, DUI of alcohol.

Alexander Shanks, 21, of Taylorville, was arrested on December 26th for aggravated battery.

  

ACCIDENTS:

On December 28th, Damon L. Fronabarger, 43, of Taylroville, was traveling south on 800 East Road at approximately 2560 North. Fronabarger said an animal ran in front of his vehicle. He tried to avoid it, but went off the roadway to the wast and hit the embankment with the left side of his 2011 Dodge Avenger. Fronabarger had damage to the front, left bumper of the vehicle.

On December 26th, Phillip S. Huston, 39, of Nokomis, was traveling south on County Highway #1 at approximately 800 North, and a deer came into the roadway. Huston hit the deer causing damage to the front, right bumper and the rear bed panel. He did not need towed from the scene.

On December 19th, Larry J. Robinson, 31, of Auburn, was traveling south on County Highway #1 at about 1780 North. Robinson said he got over for a north bound vehicle that was crowding his lane. This caused him to loose control. He over corrected and crossed the north bound land and into the east ditch. Robinson overturned and came to rest on the rood in the plowed field. 

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On December 23rd at 12:28 p.m., Teresa Tottleben (Clerk at Family Dollar), advised there were two make subjects that had entered the store. Tottleben said one of them took a two dollar package of batteries and left without paying. The make was described as black, wearing a black jacket and red shirt. She said the male had a bruise on his face. At approximately 2:00 p.m., Sgt. Mills was advised of a retail theft that occurred at Family Dollar. Sgt. Mills observed the video of the suspect and recognized him as being from Taylorville. The juvenile was later located, placed under arrest, transported to the Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released to his mother.

On December 18, officers received a phone call about a reckless driver heading west bound into town on Park Street. Officers made contact with the vehicle and conducted a traffic stop. Subsequent to investigation the driver, John R. Cooper, of Taylorville, was transported to the Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released on a Notice to Appear.

On December 25th at 6:01 p.m., officers were dispatched to 1608 West Spresser in reference to a domestic disturbance. During the course of the investigation, Phillip Osgood was located hiding in the garage. Dispatch ran Osgood through L.E.A.D.S. which determined he was wanted on an Effingham County warrant. Osgood was placed under arrest and transported to the Christian County Correctional Center.

On December 26th at 2:38 p.m., a Taylorville Police Officer made a traffic stop on a vehicle for a IVC violation. Subsequent to the stop, Jack A.P. Fulk of Stonington, and Jacob M. Smothers, of Taylorville, were arrested for illegal possession/consumption of alcohol by a minor.
