When the new U.S. Congress is sworn in next month, one of the first things addressed will be the Hire More Heroes Act. The legislation is the brainchild of Congressman Rodney Davis of Taylorville, who got the idea from a constituent. Davis says the intention of the measure is to encourage employers to hire veterans:

The legislation, H.R. 3474, was first introduced by Congressman Davis in November of 2013.
