THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ACCIDENTS:

On December 8th, Douglas Davidson, 40, of Kansas City, Kansas was traveling east bound on township road 900 North approaching the intersection with township road 2100 East. Davidson said he lost control on the wet gravel near the intersection. He was driving a semi tractor with an auto hauler trailer. Davidson slid in a northeast direction in the gravel. The tractor then struck the north concrete barrier of the bridge, rotating the tractor counter-clockwise and placing it perpendicular in the roadway. Davidson's trailer proceeded east bound and struck the south concrete barrier of the bridge where it came to rest. He also struck several yellow and black “narrowing of the road” signs around the bridge. He received major damage and refused treatment at the scene.

On December 7th, Elbert A. Preston, 51, of Bulpitt, was traveling north bound on township road 400 East approaching the east curve with township road 1640 North. Preston said a deer struck the driver's side of the vehicle, and that he slid off the roadway to the northwest, striking the ditch. He received front, driver's side and driver's door damage. No injuries were reported at the time of the accident.
