Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 12-1-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Carl Castle, 53, of Pana, was arrested on November 27th for DUI.

Ashley Rockford, 30, of Taylorville, was arrested on November 27th for domestic battery.

Casey Wasson, 26, of Cowden, was arrested on November 28th for DUI/Alcohol.

Stephanie Weaver, 42, of Kincaid, was arrested on November 29th for criminal trespassing to land.

Michael Summers, 25, was arrested on November 29th for possession of cannabis, possession of contraband in penal institution.

 

ACCIDENTS:

On November 26th, Payton A. Cloe, 28, of Pana, was traveling eastbound on township road 2500 North approximately 1/10th of a mile west of township road 2600 East. Cloe said he lost control on the snow covered roadway. Cloe exited the right side of the road and entered the south ditch, striking the embankment trees. He received front end and passenger side damage. No injuries were reported.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On November 25th, a Taylorville Police Officer observed a black truck on Park and McAdams with spark coming fron the passenger front tire. The officer made the traffic stop on the vehicle at Casey's East. Subsequent to investigation, the driver, Tommy M. Perry II of Pana, was arrested on suspicion of DUI. He posted bond and was released on a Notice to Appear.

On November 30th at 12:35am, Shelby Geary of Morrisonville, called to report he was just in an accident and the other driver left the scene. The other driver, Joseph Moses III of Morrisonville, was cited for improper backing and failure to report an accident to police.

On November 27th at 9:18pm, officers were dispatched to 1016 East Park in reference to two stolen children's riding toys. The riding toys were located on November 29th in the alley way in the 800 lock of East Vine. Two make juveniles were arrested for theft, criminal damage, and criminal trespass to railroad property.

On November 30th, officers conducted a traffic stop on Shumway at Prairie Street. Subsequent to the stop, James W. Lunsford, of Taylorville, was placed under arrest for driving while licence suspended.

On November 29th at approximately 10:03 am, Taylorville Police Officers observed a make known to have a valid warrant in the passenger seat of a vehicle. The officer stopped the vehicle and spoke to Robert D. Burke(passender) and confirmed the warrant thru L.E.A.D.S. Burke was arrested and transported to the Christian County Sheriff's Office and lodged.

 

ACCIDENT:

On November 24th, William S. Sinkhorn of Taylorville failed to yield at the intersection to Yong S. Michael of Taylorville. The intersection is a two way stop intersection. Michael was traveling south and did not have to stop. Sinkhorn struck Michael in the middle of the intersection. There was slight damage to the vehicles.
