Lock Vehicles and Homes

Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp would like to remind all the citizens of ChristianCounty to keep your residences and vehicles locked when left unattended.

ChristianCounty deputies apprehended a 15-year-old male juvenile from Kincaid for criminal trespass to vehicles and theft during the early morning hours of Thursday, November 27, 2014.  Investigation revealed the juvenile attempted to enter 40 vehicles that were parked on the southeast side of the city of Kincaid.  Approximately 20 to 25 of the vehicles were unlocked and entered.  Money and clothing items were taken from the vehicles. Deputies were able to track the juvenile’s footprints from the vehicles to a residence where he was apprehended.

Sheriff Kettelkamp would also like to remind citizens, when leaving your vehicle parked, to remove all valuable items out of the vehicle or place them in your trunk out of view.  Also, citizens are reminded to keep your residence locked when you're not at home and to make it appear like someone is at the residence when you're gone. Remember not to place Christmas presents, or other valuable items, in plan view through uncovered windows or doors.

Have a safe and responsible holiday season!
