Christian County Coroner Amy Calvert Winans and Christian County Sheriff Bruce Kettelkamp, are jointly investigating the death of a Kincaid infant.

Winans tells Regional Radio News that on Monday morning about 10:33, Christian County 911 received a call that a one-month-old male was unresponsive and not breathing in the 100 block of Richardson Street in Kincaid.

Sutton Ambulance Service responded to the scene and requested that Winans be notified. Deputy Coroner Bill Nation arrived at the scene and pronounced Lucas L. Burchi dead at the scene.

An autoposy was completed on the body today (Tuesday), and Sheriff Kettelkamp tells Regional Radio News that preliminary autopsy results show the infant died of asphyxia which is consistent with co-sleeping. Winans and Kettelkamp are being assisted by Illinois State Police Zone 4 Investigations.
