Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 11-10-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Matthew Swisher, 36, of Pana, was arrested on November 8 for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a controlled substance.

Frederick Tremain, 38, of Springfield, was arrested on November 9 for disorderly conduct.

Kiera Webb, 21, of Springfield was arrested on November 8 for retail theft. Bond was set at $3,250.

 

ACCIDENTS:

Thomas Taylor, 62, of Taylroville was traveling east on 2100 North Road around 1075 East. A deer ran into the roadway and Taylor hit the deer causing damage to the front of hes 2012 Nissan Murano.

On November 6, Karen Vidmar, 57, of Taylorville, was traveling south bound on Illinois Route 48 approximately 2/10 of a mile south of township road 2300 North. Vidmar state she thought another vehicle traveling north bound veered into her lane of traffic. Vidmar then veered to the right to avoid striking the other vehicle and made contact with a guardrail on the west side of the roadway. Vidmar received damage to the passender side of her 200 Ford Escape XLT.

On November 8, Ronald B. Nagel, 67, of Trenton, Illinois was traveling west on 500 North Road. Nagel was traveling north on 500 East Road. He approached the intersection and downshifted and then proceeded into the intersection. Summer L.Verbiski of Nokomis was also passing through the same intersection. Nagel said he did not see Verbiski. He said it could have been a blind spot caused by the large mirror on the passenger side of his 1999 Freight liner Tractor. The stop sign for the north bound traffic was missing fron the intersection. Verbisk's passengers were Nathan Verbiski, 22, of Nokomis, and Richard Grundy, 52, of Morrisonville.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On November 8, Kiera Webb, Of Springfield, was arrested on a warrant out of Sangamon County.
