Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 10/3/2014

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS: 

 Brandi Benson, 30, of Decatur was arrested on October 2nd for driving on a suspended/revoked license. 

 Gabriel Stivers-Boston, 18, of Taylorville was arrested on October 3rd for drug paraphernalia.

 

INCIDENT:

 On October 1st, T.J. Curtin reported that theft of a John Deere gator from a farm field located at 650 North 2200 East Road.  The gator is owned by the University of Illinois.  The theft occurred between noon September 29th and October 1st

 

ACCIDENTS:

 On October 1st, Richard A. Rose, 56, Of Nokomis was traveling southeast on County Highway #1 approximately ¼ mile north of 150 North Road when a deer came out of a corn field and into the roadway.  Rose said that he was unable to stop in time to avoid striking the deer.

 On September 2th, the Sheriff's Office received calls of a reckless driver.  The vehicle was located all over the roadway.  The vehicle had almost hit several vehicles head on.  All northbound traffic was stopped.  The vehicle refused to pull over until it crossed the center line and hit the stopped northbound traffic that was pulled off the roadway.  The vehicle was a white truck that hit a red car head on.  The impact caused the red car to hit the vehicle behind it causing all three vehicles to have damage.  The driver of the white truck Robert Sutton, 70, of Decatur was having a medical issue that caused him to crash into the other vehicles. 

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

  On September 28th at 5:40 pm officers were dispatched to 1119 West Vandeveer for a disturbance.  Subsequent to investigation, Derek Samson, 24, was arrested for criminal damage to property and disorderly conduct. 

 On September 23rd, a Taylorville Police Officer was out with a a male subject in the 400 block of Western Avenue.  The officer learned the male driver had a suspended drivers license and was operating a motor vehicle.  Philip R. Osgood, 41, was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylorville Police Department, processed and released on a notice to appear. 

 On Septmeber 30th at 10:33 pm, officers were dispatched to Springfield Road in reference to a reckless driver.  The vehicle was located on West Spresser.  The driver Hannah Harden, and passenger, Tiffany Fassero, were arrested for disorderly conduct.  The were issued a City Ordinance notice to appear and released. 

 On September 28th at 12:26 am, officers were dispatched to Major Leagues in reference to a fight in progress.  Subsequent to investigation, Nathaneal L. Grable and Haili J. Killen were both arrested for Public Intoxication. 

 On September 30th at 11:18 am, Taylorville Police Department received a report froma motorist of a semi-tractor trailer that was all over the road,  The vehicle was located, the officer observed a traffic violation and stopped the vehicle.  Michael K. Hoss was the driver.  After a brief investigation, Hoss was arrested for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol.  He was transported to the Taylorville Police Department, processed and released. 

 On October 1st, officers observed a vehicle make an IVC violation and they conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.  Subsequent to investigation Michelle M. Yerkes was arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of cannabis< 2.5 grams. 

 On September 29th, Victoria R. Durbin was arrested for harboring a runaway.  The incident occurred on September 28th.  Victoria Durbin was processed and released on a Notice To Appear. 

 On September 23rd, a Taylorville Police Officer was dispatched to 416 Western Aveenue in regards to a disturbance.  Upon arrival contact was made with the subjects who advised that and intoxicated female had been on the front lawn with not pants or underwear on.  The female, Loretta Powers, was causing a disturbance.  She was placed under arrest and transported to the Taylorville Police Department and was released on a notice to appear.
