Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 9-30-2014

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

 Jared Becker, 35, of Taylorville was arrested on September 29 for failure to appear.  

 

ACCIDENTS:

 Dennis Klump, 59, of Taylorville was traveling west bound on 1600 North Road and stopped at the intersection of 1250 East.  Klump said he looked both ways and did not see any traffic and proceeded across 1250 East Road.  Klump said he did not see the car and hti the drivers side of Brandon Griffiths, 16, of Taylorville.  Griffiths was pushed into the corn field and received drivers side damage, and Klump received front end damage.  Brandon Griffiths and passenger Melanie Sidwell, 33, of Taylorville were transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital by private vehicle with minor injuries.  Dennis Klump was issued a citation for failure to yield at a stop sign. 

 Nicole Hunt, 25, of Decatur came to a stop sign at 1380 East and McAdam Drive.  Hunt turned to sharp and hit the stop sign causing damage down the passenger side of the vehicle she was driving.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

 On September 24, Walmart advised they had two females detained for retail theft.  Both juveniles were arrested and transported to the Taylorville Police Department and were processed and released. 

 On September 29, officers went to 836 East Thompson to locate a make subject with a warrant for his arrest. Subsequent to their arrival, Jared L. Becker, 35, of Taylorville was taken to the Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.
