Area Arrests/Accidents/Incidents 9-19-2014

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Kellie Barry, 31, of Taylorville was arrested on September 19th for domestic battery. 

 Elizabeth Frisina, 49, of Taylorville was arrested on September 18th for theft, a  Class I felony charge,  Bond was posted for $2000. 

 Shawn Grubaugh, 38, of Taylorville was arrested on September 19th for domestic battery. 

 Eric Klein35, of Pana was arrested on September 19th for domestic battery. 

 

ACCIDENTS:

 On September 17, Heather Moore, 25, of Springfield was traveling eastbound on County Highway #2 approximately one-half mile west of township road 1000 east when a deer entered the roadway.  Moore was unable to stop to avoid striking the animal and received front end damage to her 2011 Chevy Cruise

 On September 17, Gary Tarrant, 53, of Tower Hill was traveling northbound on Illinois Route 51 approaching the intersecting township road 1200 North.  Julio Monge, 79, of Taylorville was traveling eastbound on township road 1200 north and had stopped at the stop sign with the southbound lanes intersection of Illinois Route 51.  Monge proceeded across the southbound lanes of Illinois Route 51 and had stopped in the middle “yield” median, intersection with the northbound lanes.  Monge stated he did not see Tarrant approaching and began to proceed across the northbound lanes to continue east.  Tarrant applied his brakes in an attempt to avoid striking Monge.  Monge stuck Tarrant in the east lane of the double, northbound traffic lanes.  Monge was driving the South Fork Senior Citizens 2009 Ford E350 and Tarrant was driving a 2003 PT Cruiser.  Monge received front end damage and Tarrant received drivers side damage. 

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLWOING ARRESTS:

 On September 18, officers went to St. Mary's Hospital in Decatur in reference to a juvenile subject being released that had a valid Christian County warrant.  The juvenile was arrested and transported to the Christian County Courthouse.

 On September 17, officers were dispatched to Walmart for a retail theft.  Upon arrival to the store Alexander B. Shanks, was arrested for retail theft.

 On September 18, officers were on patrol when they observed a vehicle being driven by Timothy W. Verbiski.  Officers knew Verbiski's license to be suspended/revoked and conducted a traffic stop.  During the stop dispatch verified thru L.E. A.D.S. that Verbiski's license was in fact revoked.  Verbiski ws placed under attest for driving while license revoked and was transported to the Taylorville Police Department to be processed.  Verbiski was later released on a notice to appear in court on the charge of driving while license revoked. 

 On September 19, at 1:16 am., officers were dispatched to 917 East Oak Street in reference to a battery taking place.  Kelly C. Barry, 30, of Taylorville, and Shawn R. Grubagh, 38, of Taylorville was arrested for domestic battery.  They were transported to the Taylorville Police Department for processing and later transported to the Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.
