Central Illinois Cleaning Up After Severe Weather Tuesday Night

Central Illinois is cleaning up after severe thunderstorms rolled thru the area last night, bringing as much as 3 to 4 inches of rain in less than 2 hours.

 

Many city and rural roads were flooded immediately after the heavy rain Tuesday night.

 

Tree limbs, branches and leaves ended up in the street. Illinois Route 29 west of Casey's in Taylorville was blocked for a time by Taylorville Police, as they cleared a large branch that had fallen off of a tree into the roadway.

 

Listener reports indicate as much as 4 inches fell in less than 2 hours, in the Regional Radio listening area.

 

There have been no reports of damage or injuries as a result of last night's severe weather, which extended from Ford County in east central Illinois, to Christian County.
