2 men, including one from Taylorville, were found in a car in Riverside Park on Springfield's north side late Thursday afternoon, both dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
Sangamon County Coroner Cinda Edwards told Regional Radio News that 82-year-old Robert S. Hall of Taylorville, and his brother, 76-year-old Ronald H. Hall of Springfield, were both found slumped over in a car parked in Riverside Park, by a Springfield Park District employee at about 5:30 Thursday afternoon. The employee called Springfield Police, who found both men each with a single gunshot wound.
Edwards said their preliminary investigation points towards a possible double suicide.
