Illinois? Unemployment rate drops

Governor Quinn has announced that Illinois’ Unemployment rate has dropped to a near six-year low. The unemployment rate for Illinois now sits at 6.8 percent as of July, compared to 7.1 percent in June. Governor Quinn also announced that 11-thousand private sector jobs have been added in Illinois, and states that “Illinois’ comeback is going strong and we’ve got more work to do.” Governor Quinn wants to push a new tax cut for businesses that help provide job training. This new tax cut will lower the cost to train workers, so it may help businesses create new jobs and will ensure workers have the skills necessary to drive a 21st century economy.
