A 14-year-old is now in custody for throwing railroad spikes from a railroad overpass onto the northbound lanes of I-55. The spikes caused damage to 5 vehicles.  A responding Illinois State Police Trooper observed the juvenile. When the juvenile saw the Trooper, he fled on foot. The Trooper chased the juvenile to the juvenile’s residence before the Trooper was able to put the juvenile into custody. The charges against the 14-year-old are: criminal damage to property, vehicular endangerment, and depositing injurious materials on a roadway.
