Rakey Named Executive Director of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region

The Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Illinois Capital Region has named Lisa Rakey as the organization’s new Executive Director effective August 11, 2014.

Rakey joined BBBS in 2006, and as the Director of Community Relations for Christian, Macoupin, Montgomery and Sangamon Counties, she oversaw a wide range of responsibilities including establishing and building donor relationships, conducting presentations to various local organizations and businesses, and acting as a spokesperson and advocate for the BBBS organization. She had previously held positions with the Prairie Center Against Sexual Assault and the Macoupin County Public Health Department.

BBBS is the Nation’s oldest and largest donor and volunteer supported mentoring network. Their mission is to help children reach their full potential through life-changing, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships.
