Taylorville saw a visit from a nationally known figure the other day. According to Congressman Rodney Davis of Taylorville, U.S. House Speaker John Boehner (BAY-nur) was in Taylorville Monday for a fundraiser:

Congressman Davis also received two big endorsements for re-election on Tuesday from the Illinois Education Association’s and the National Education Association’s political action committees.
