Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 7-28-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Matthew P. Bridgman, 27, of 305 South Edwards Street Apt. 6, Decatur, was arrested July 25 for failure to appear.

Justin M. McKay, 21, of 400 West Franklin Apt. 205, Taylorville, was arrested July 25 on a bond forfeiture for issuance of warrant.

Jolene Lopez, 19, of 110 Beach Avenue, Kincaid, was arrested July 25 for obstructing justice.

Timothy L. Akers, 21, of 109 West Washington, Edinburg, was arrested July 26 on a bond forfeiture for petition to revoke driving under the influence.

Hannah C. Bello, 33, of RR2 Box 208, Pana, was arrested July 25 on 2 bond forfeitures for issuance of warrants.

Brandon L. Winchester, 20, of 803 East Ash Street, Taylorville, was arrested July 26 for consumption of liquor by a minor.

Zachary W. Mills, 21, of 407 West Third Street, Taylorville, was arrested July 26 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Kaylee A. Walters, 18, of 266 West Center Street, Mt. Auburn, was arrested July 25 for domestic battery.

Joshua A. Westerfield, 30, of 416 South Shumway, Taylorville, was arrested July 26 for aggravated battery/great bodily harm, resisting a peace officer, false report of abuse, and cause a child to be endangered.

Kody J. Koonce, 20, of 304 James Street, Bulpitt, was arrested July 25 for burglary.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On July 25, 911 dispatched Taylorville Police Department officers to #59 Hannon Trailer Park in reference to a male subject making threats to the owner of the trailer. Following officer's arrival, Ernest S. Stewart, 25, of Taylorville was placed under arrest for disorderly conduct. Stewart was taken to Taylorville Police Department where he was processed and later released on a notice to appear in court.

On July 27 at 3:08pm, the Taylorville Police Department received a walk in complaint of a battery in Manners Park. Following the complaint, a female juvenile was arrested for battery. The female juvenile was processed and released into the custody of her parents on a notice to appear in court.

On July 24 at 10:44pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to the lobby of Taylorville Police Department for a possible battery against a juvenile. Upon arriving, the officers talked to the male juvenile about getting hit in the face by another male juvenile at Jayne's Park at approximately 9:00pm. Upon investigation, on male juvenile was arrested for battery.

On July 25 at approximately 9:46am, a Taylorville Police Department officer observed a vehicle make a traffic violation in the area of Spresser and Webster Street. Following the stop, Nile P. Hunt of Fort Meyers, Florida was arrested for driving while license is suspended/revoked. Hunt was arrested, transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released.

On July 26 at 11:05pm, Taylorville Police Department officers responded to a call of a male subject acting intoxicated and having a young child with him. Upon investigation, Joshua A. Westerfield, 30, of Taylorville was placed under arrest for child endangerment, aggravated battery, resisting arrest, and disorderly conduct. Westerfield was transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

On July 24 at 1:37pm, Walmart Loss Prevention contacted the Taylorville Police Department advising that they had two males who had left the store without paying for two phone covers. An officer arrived at Walmart and spoke to Loss Prevention. Loss Prevention advised both the 16-year-old male and Brock Ohl, 21, of Assumption carried a phone cover through the store and also took them from their packaging. Loss Prevention said they then left the store without paying for the item but Ohl was the one who was in possession of both covers at the time they were stopped outside the store. Both were arrested for retail and transported to Taylorville Police Department where they were processed. Ohl was released on a notice to appear and the male juvenile was released to his grandmother.
