Myers: Social Security Offers Special Earning Credits for Military Service

If you or someone you know has served in the military, they may be able to earn extra Social Security money for it. Jack Myers, Public Affairs Specialist at Social Security’s Springfield office, tells Regional Radio News they offer special earning credits for military service:

Myers says when you apply for Social Security benefits, they will ask if you served in the military and will automatically check to see if the credits would increase benefits. For more information, visit socialsecurity.gov or call 1-800-772-1213.
