The Christian County Sheriff’s Office reports one person was sent to the hospital following a car crash Wednesday. Around 4:46pm, 19-year-old Luke W. Waddington of Assumption was traveling south on Route 29. Just north of 725 East Road, Waddington reportedly fell asleep, crossed the center line and struck 26-year-old David L. Carron of Springfield in the left rear of his vehicle. Rhonda M. Law of Owaneco was driving behind Waddington and saw him swerve, go off the road, and then cross over the center line striking Carron's vehicle. Waddington reportedly told police that he did not remember anything and that he must have fallen asleep. Waddington was transported to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of injuries described as minor by the report. Carron reported no injuries. Both vehicles were towed from the scene.
