Taylorville City Council Approves Issuance of Bonds for Platform Truck

The Taylorville City Council met Monday night and approved an ordinance for the issuance of $1.1 million in bonds for the purchase of a platform truck for the Fire Department pending the Mayor's approval of the final forms. Will Glass with First MidState presented the 17 ½ year repayment schedule to the Council at the meeting:

The bond money will also be used to refund certain outstanding debt certificates of the City.


The Taylorville City Council heard some good news at their Monday night meeting in regards to West Park Avenue. Mayor Greg Brotherton says the road will soon be repaved:

Mayor Brotherton says the work will be done sometime in mid to late July.


The Taylorville City Council heard an update on the Ahlstrom noise problem at their Monday meeting. Alderman Larry Budd says they will be taking down the stack next month:

The noise problem started around November of last year when Ahlstrom installed EPA mandated equipment.


The Taylorville City Council did not vote on the annexation and re-zoning of the Davis Land Development, LLC Property and will discuss it at their July 7th meeting. The Council approved a resolution to levy an additional tax of .02% for the Library's purchase of sites and buildings, construction, equipment and maintenance of Library buildings and equipment. The Council approved an ordinance to add a 1-way stop at the intersection of Bidwell Street and Snodgrass Street. The stop sign will be placed on the Bidwell Street side.
