Expansion plans at the Miller Media Group in Taylorville, was the topic of Tuesday's program speaker at the weekly meeting of the Taylorville Kiwanis Club.

M-M-G president and Kiwanis Club member Randy Miller told Kiwanis members about upcoming additions of signals and formats to the Taylorville-based media company.

All told, the Taylorville cluster of stations will offer 6 different formats and 7 signals as of August First.

Miller also had fun with Kiwanis members, offering a quiz on how various radio and television station call letters in the United States, were assigned. Most were selected by station owners based on the geographical area the station serves.

Kiwanis membership chair Dean Ray officially kicked off the club's membership drive, which goes thru July 15th. 4 team captains—John McClure, Blaine Cornwell, Chris Weittenhiller and Dean Ray—will oversee recruitment efforts by Kiwanis members over the next several weeks. The drive will culminate with a cookout at Kiwanis Park.

The Taylorville Kiwanis Club is part of global organization of volunteers dedicated to changing the world one child and one community at a time. Weekly meetings are held Tuesdays at noon at the Taylorville Memorial Hospital auditorium. For information on the club, go to taylorvillekiwanis.com.
