Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 6-5-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Nathaniel D. Dance, 19, of 112 North Oak, Assumption, was arrested June 4 for the delivery of cannabis.

Dwight D. Rozplochowski, 45, of 805 East Franklin Street, Taylorville, was arrested June 4 for resisting a police officer.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On June 2, a Taylorville Police Department was dispatched to 1118 West Adams in reference to a loud noise complaint. The officer spoke with the complainant and she pointed out the subject with the loud music. The officer knew the subject to be Anthony Adams, 24, of Taylorville. The officer issued Adams a city ordinance citation for a noise violation.

On June 3 at 11:14am, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to a two vehicle accident across from the Taylorville library at the corner of West Vine and Washington. The driver of the red Toyota truck, Karinena Durbin, 39, of Taylorville, was found to be suspended through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System. Durbin was arrested, processed, and issued a citation for driving suspended with a notice to appear.

On June 2 at 3:59am, Taylorville Police Department officers were out at Cheney and Market Street with a 17-year-old juvenile male who wrecked a scooter. Following the investigation, the juvenile male was arrested for zero-tolerance DUI, illegal transportation of alcohol, driving without a license, and possession of drug paraphernalia. The juvenile male was transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released to his mother.

On May 27, Michael E. Durbin, 48, of Taylorville was arrested for possession of cannabis, criminal trespassing, and public intoxication.

On June 4 at 12:20pm, Parole Agent Jeff Wright advised he had a male parolee who was possibly in possession of drugs and drug paraphernalia. Taylorville Police Department officers arrived and found Steven C. Smith, 39, of Taylorville in possession of what appeared to be two cannabis plants, bags containing purported cannabis and several one hitter pipes. Smith was arrested and transported to Taylorville Police Department where he was processed and released on a notice to appear. All items, including photos, were placed into evidence.

On June 4 at 1:12pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer assisted Railroad Officer Mathon with an arrest on the tracks at Market and Shawnee. Dwight Rozplochowski, 45, of Taylorville was arrested for criminal trespass to railroad property.

On June 4 at 6:50pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to 601 West Franklin in reference to a domestic disturbance involving a knife. Following the investigation, a 16-year-old male juvenile was arrested for domestic battery and two counts of aggravated assault.


CRASHES:

On June 1 at 3:08pm, Kenneth V. Melvin, 28, of Taylorville was turning left into the parking lot of Mach 1. Melvin stated he did not see Gary M. Smothers, 40, of Kincaid and struck him. Both Smothers and passenger Titalinda Werries, 42, of Springfield were transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital. Melvin was cited for failure to yield, no valid driver's license, and operating uninsured.
