There is a chance that a medical marijuana facility could move into the Rock Solid Produce building west of Taylorville. Christian County Board Chairman Paul Schmitz says he would support the facility:

The facility is not guaranteed to move in as there are several other parties interested in buying the Rock Solid Produce building for growing herbs and spices. Also under the current distance restriction law, the medical marijuana facility would not be able to set up shop at that location but there is a bill that would shorten the distance if passed.
