Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 5-27-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Zachary M. Allen, 19, of 421 North Locust Street, Greenville, was arrested May 24 for consumption of liquor by a minor.

Jacob A. Bright, 18, of 600 West Third Street Apartment 5B, Taylorville, was arrested May 24 for consumption of liquor by a minor.

Gage C. Marston, 19, of 408 South Poplar Street, Pana, was arrested May 24 for consumption of alcohol by a minor.

Nathan T. Mount, 19, of 1218 South Fourth Street, Shelbyville, was arrested May 24 for consumption of alcohol by a minor and on a bond forfeiture warrant.

Del L. Burkey, 19, of 820 East Oak Street, Taylorville, was arrested May 24 on a bond forfeiture for possession of a controlled substance

Thomas E. Painter, 42, of 9625 Blue Water Court, Tallahassee, Florida, was arrested May 26 for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Christopher R. Lewis, 26, of 1503 West Elm Street, Taylorville, was arrested May 25 for battery.

Steven J. Lewis, 25, of 1024 East Spruce Street, Springfield, was arrested May 25 for battery.

Patrick M. Motley, 24, of 1254 Illinois Route 48, Taylorville, was arrested May 26 on a warrant for driving on a suspended/revoked license.

Anna M. Lorentson, 39, of 1316 South Houston, Taylorville, was arrested May 26 for domestic battery.

David W. Moma, 22, of 108 North Poplar, Assumption, was arrested May 27 for criminal damage to state property.

CRASHES:
On May 25 at 5:25am, Michael G. Graham, 49, of Stonington was traveling southwest on Illinois Route 48. At approximately 1450 North, Graham struck a deer that came onto the roadway. Graham had damage to the front left bumper. Graham's vehicle did not have to be towed from the scene. No injuries reported.

On May 25 at 4:00am, Waylon E. Mollet, 33, of Owaneco was traveling southbound on 1800 East Road. At approximately 780 North Road, Mollet stated he saw something cross the roadway so he swerved to miss it. Mollet went off the roadway to the left and hit a mailbox belonging to Anthony J. Wehmhoff. Mollet stated he notified the owner of the mailbox. Mollet's vehicle had damage to the front, right bumper area but did not need to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

On May 21 at 6:07am, Jerod A. Johnson, 33, of Nokomis, was traveling southeast on Illinois Route 29. Around 1800 North Road, Johnson went off the roadway into the ditch. Johnson came back on to the road then went into the ditch on the other side of 1800 North Road. Johnson came out of the ditch, went into a field, and drove the vehicle out. Johnson stated he had been up all night at the hospital in Springfield and fell asleep while driving. An 11-year-old female passenger had minor injuries but was complaining of her chest hurting. She was then transported to Memorial Medical Center in Springfield for treatment of injuries. No other injuries were reported.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On May 23 at 5:16pm, Taylorville Police Department was contacted by Wal-Mart Loss Prevention in reference to two shoplifters. Following officers arrival, Megan L. Hageman, 21, of Pana and Brianna M. Hoover, 24, of Pana were both placed under arrest for retail theft and taken to the Taylorville Police Department. Both were later released on notices to appear.

On May 15, a Taylorville Police Department officer was advised of a report from Wal-Mart in regards to a retail theft. The officer later located the female subject involved who was identified Cara M. Montgomery, 39, of Taylorville. Montgomery was arrested and released on a notice to appear.

On May 26 at 3:28pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol and saw a male subject riding an ATV on Shumway near Route 48. The officer conducted a traffic stop on the ATV as it pulled into a nearby residence. Following the stop, Patrick M. Motley, 24, of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license suspended and a Pike County failure to appear warrant.

On May 23 at 7:39pm, a Taylorville Police Department initiated a traffic stop on a vehicle at Florence and Palmer. James W. Lunsford, 24, of Taylorville was arrested for driving while license is suspended. Lunsford was transported to Taylorville Police Department for processing and released on a notice to appear.

On May 23, at 5:20pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer went to the Loading Zone Bar in regards to a man who had fallen. During the time the officer was on scene, the officer located John A. Westbrook, 44, of Taylorville who was later placed under arrest for possession of cannabis and drug paraphernalia. Westbrook was transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released on a notice to appear.

On May 24 at 1:53am, a Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol and noticed two men pushing each other in the McDonald's parking lot. Following investigation, Nathan A. Mount,19, of Shelbyville, was arrested for having a valid warrant. Mount was transported to Christian County Sheriff's Office.

On may 24th, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to the area of 820 East Oak Street in reference to a domestic dispute. Following their arrival, officers placed Del L. Burkey, 19, of Taylorville under arrest for a warrant out of Macon County. Burkey was transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

CRASHES:

On May 22 at 10:56am, Judith D. Alberts, 69, of Moweaqua advised she was in the right turn lane and started into the south bound lane when she was struck by Derick Morales, 34, of Beardstown. Alberts advised she did not see Morales before entering the lane. Alberts' vehicle received damage to the driver's side rear quarter panel, trunk, and rear window. Alberts was issued a citation for improper lane usage. Morales advised he was headed south when Alberts came into his lane. Morales advised he was unable to avoid striking Alberts and received damage on the passenger side from front to rear. No injuries were reported.

On May 13, Joseph A. Cochran, 32, of Taylorville was traveling through the parking lot of Car Wash City. Cochran had a problem with the car wash and was having difficulty seeing. Cochran was turning and struck a pole in the parking lot. Cochran was able to drive from the scene. No injuries were reported.
