Lady Tornadoes lose to SHG; Shelbyville Boys take win from Flora (Wednesday, 5.21.14).

In local sports results Wednesday, the Taylorville Lady Tornadoes lost at home to the Sacred Heart-Griffin Cyclones 13-2 as heard on Groovy 93.5. The Cyclones scored 1 grand slam home run in the game that improved their record to 26 and 6 overall, 13 and 3 in conference play. The Tornadoes dropped to 14 and 13 overall, 7 and 8 in conference play. Tornado thirdbasewoman, Katie Patton, was credited with a 2-RBI double in the 1st inning, giving Taylorville their only 2 runs scored. She was also the "Doug McKinnie-Country Financial" Player-Of-The-Game as announced during the post-game show on Groovy 93.5.

At the Boys Baseball Regionals in Vandalia, the Shelbyville Rams defeated the Flora Wolves 5-4 in a last-minute come-from-behind win as heard on Solid Gold 98.3, WRAN. 1st baseman, Sheldon Meyer, was credited with the win thanks to his walk off single in the final inning and was named the "Doug McKinnie-Country Financial" Player-of-the-Game in the post-game show heard on WRAN.
