Shelbyville Rotary Hears About Several SMH Programs

The Shelbyville Rotary Club continued their discussion about ideas for a new community service project at their weekly meeting. Ideas submitted so far include a Rotary Community Vegetable Garden, IPad Mini purchase for the high school library, an outdoor handball court at the park, adopt a section of the Dacey Trail, or purchase of devotional books for the servicemen.

The Club is still looking for more ideas from members. The ideas will be collected and presented for a vote at the June 2nd Rotary meeting.

The speaker for the day was Craig Devereaux, physical rehabilitation specialist for the Shelby Memorial Hospital.  Also speaking was Marilyn Sears, SMH CEO.  Sears spoke briefly about the Stroke Stabilization Program and Illinois Hospital Week. Devereaux spoke about the Wellness for Life Program, in which he would serve as a personal trainer for people who are trying to achieve a variety of health goals.  Devereaux says they assess your health status, create a plan, and work with you on an exercise regimen to help you attain your desired level of physical fitness.
