Fuerstenau: State Still Short on Funding

A bill currently working its way through the Illinois Legislature would change the funding formula for schools.  The plan would mean extra money for some school districts like Taylorville and Pana, while meaning less for some property tax-rich districts.  Dr. Gregg Fuerstenau, Superintendent of Taylorville Schools says despite the shortages, the State and Federal Governments continue to impose unfunded mandates on schools:

Fuerstenau says he hopes the funding bill will be called for a vote before the end of the current session.
