Morrisonville Resident Named LLCC of 2014 Pearson Master Teacher

Lincoln Land Community College honored recipients of the 2014 Pearson Master Teacher, Distinguished Service and NISOD Excellence Awards at the 20th annual Employee Recognition and Appreciation Ceremony on Wednesday.   

Bill Harmon of Morrisonville, professor of agronomy, was named the 2014 Drs. Raymond and Ann Pearson Master Teacher. The award is presented annually to an outstanding full-time LLCC faculty member who practices his/her profession in an exemplary manner.

Harmon has taught for 17 years at LLCC including classes in soils, crops, mechanics and marketing. He also serves as an academic advisor to more than 60 ag students each semester, and advises members of the Agriculture Club, the largest student club on campus.

Also, Michelle Coakes, professor of art, of Taylorville, and Dee Krueger, assistant director, LLCC-Taylorville, of Taylorville, were recognized as this year’s LLCC recipients of the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development Excellence Awards.
