Lincoln Land Community College will conduct commencement exercises on Friday, May 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Prairie Capital Convention Center in Springfield.

Andrew Dewey of Springfield has been selected as this year’s commencement speaker. Dewey is graduating with an associate in arts in liberal arts with a 4.0 GPA. Dewey is also a member of Phi Theta Kappa and the Veterans Club. He plans to transfer to University of Illinois at Springfield to study psychology.

Clark Johnson of Farmersville and Mary Flesch of Springfield are serving as marshals at commencement. Johnson is graduating with an associate in arts in political science with a 4.0 GPA. Flesch is graduating with an associate in arts degree in liberal arts with a 3.88 GPA.

Karla Carwile of Chicago (Sacred Heart Academy graduate) will be recognized with the 2014 LLCC Honored Alumni Award. Carwile earned her associate in science degree from LLCC in 1993.

Following the commencement ceremony, the LLCC Alumni Association is hosting a reception for graduates, their families and guests.
