Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 5-5-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING CRASH:

On May 1, Cody A. Meachum of Pana was traveling north at one half mile north of 100 North Road when a deer approached the roadway into the path of Meachum. Meachum was unable to stop to avoid hitting the deer and damaged was received to the front end. Meachum was able to drive the vehicle from the scene. No injuries reported.

ARRESTS:

Scott A. Wilbur, 56, of 322 North Clay, Taylorville, was arrested May 4, for manufacturing/delivery of cannabis of more than 500 grams.

Candace N. Badman, 18, of 111 Fourth Street, Morrisonville, was arrested May 4 for battery.

Keith E. Budds, 60, of 405 East 2nd Street, Pana, was arrested May 2 for domestic battery.


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On May 2 at 10:06pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer initiated a traffic stop on West Spresser Street. The male driver, Joel F. Ashburn, 18, of Taylorville was arrested for illegal possession of alcohol by a minor. Upon further investigation, Zachary W. Mills, 21, of Taylorville was arrested for purchasing or providing alcohol to a minor.

On May 2 at 7:52pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer located Ricky L. Hobbs, 46, of Taylorville at Casey's East. The officer knew Hobbs to have a valid Christian County warrant. Dispatch confirmed the warrant through the Law Enforcement Agenices Data System. Hobbs was placed under arrest and transported to Christian County Correctional Center.

On May 2 at 3:35pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were sent to the 500 block of Arlington in reference to a complaint of a reckless driver. Following investigation, Cynthia A. Linder was arrested and issued a local ordinance violation for disorderly conduct.

On May 4 at 4:12am, 911 sent the Taylorville Fire Department to a fully involved structure fire of a garage behind a residence in the 300 block of North Clay Street. Upon arrival, all Taylorville Police Department officers assisted the fire department until the fire was under control. After Taylorville Police Department cleared the scene, there was a request by Taylorville Fire Department to come back. Upon arrival, a large indoor cannabis grow was located in the garage next door to where the adjacent garage had burnt. After an investigation, Scott A. Wilbur, 56, of Taylorville was arrested and transported to Taylorville Police Department to be processed and then transported to the Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond for manufacturing and delivery of cannabis between 500 to 2000 grams. The scene was processed and a large quantity of evidence was collected from the garage.
