Two Taylorville Residents were arrested on charges of methamphetamine production. On Tuesday, Taylorville Police Department officers responded to a disturbance call at 513 East Oak Street. While officers were at the scene, they noticed a strong chemical odor inside the residence that was consistent with the illegal production of methamphetamine. Upon further investigation, an active methamphetamine lab was allegedly discovered.

36-year-old Joshua W. Moore and 23-year-old Brandie Ben Jeddou were taken into custody without incident for aggravated unlawful participation in methamphetamine production and for possession of meth materials. The Illinois State Police Meth Response Team assisted in the dismantling of the lab and clean-up.

The Taylorville Police Department asks anyone with information relating to the unlawful manufacturing or distribution of methamphetamine or any other illegal substance to contact them at 824-2211.
