Auburn Police officials are looking for a gunman who held up a local bank. The crime happened Thursday afternoon at the Illini Bank. The alleged offender left the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of cash. Police Chief Bruce Centko told the "Springfield Journal Register" that the offender is described as white, about six-feet tall and weighing about 180 pounds. He was wearing a dark hoodie, a baseball cap, blue jeans and tennis shoes. Anyone with information on the robbery is asked to call Auburn police at 438-3351.
