Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 4-21-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

ARRESTS:

Jake E. Tucker, 22, of 408 South Cherokee Street, Taylorville, was arrested April 18 for methamphetamine manufacturing, methamphetamine precursor, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Thomas E. Lawrence, 63, of RR1 Box 35, Herrick, was arrested April 18 on a bond forfeiture for driving under the influence of alcohol.

Cody L. Wyatt, 22, of 1106 East Poplar, Taylorville, was arrested April 19 for methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of methamphetamine manufacturing materials, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Victoria A. Shirey, 57, of 411 Borah Avenue, Tovey, was arrested April 19 for violating an order of protection.

Ashley N. Akins, 26, of 104 McCarthur, Pana, was arrested April 19 on a bond forfeiture for methamphetamine precursor.

Victoria L. Vega, 19, of 821 North State, Litchfield, was arrested April 20 for calculated criminal drug conspiracy.

Antonio Hayes, 32, of 1125 North 7th Street, Springfield, was arrested April 20 for calculated criminal drug conspiracy.

Nicole R. Schneider, 25, of 1007 East 500 North Road, Morrisonville, was arrested April 20 for calculated criminal drug conspiracy.

CRASH:
On April 19, Jacob N. Mayes of Jennings, Oklahoma, was northbound on Highway Route 48. At approximately 1 mile north of 1100 East, a deer entered the roadway. Mayes struck the deer and received front-end damage. No injuries were reported


THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On April 18 at 9:28pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer was out at 120 Hunter in reference to a suspicious odor. An active methamphetamine lab was located at the address. Following the investigation, 22-year-old Cody Wyatt of Taylorville, 22-year-old Jake Tucker of Taylorville, and a 16-year-old juvenile male were arrested for unlawful participation of methamphetamine manufacturing, possession of methamphetamine materials, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

On April 20th, Taylorville Police Department officers conducted a stop on a vehicle heading westbound on South Spresser Street. Following the stop, a 17-year-old male juvenile from St. Louis, Missouri was placed under arrest for possession of cannabis and possession of drug paraphernalia. Tanner H. Jackson,18, of Haines City, Florida was also arrested for possession of drug paraphernalia. Both male subjects were processed and later released on a notice to appear in court.

CRASHES:

On April 19, Brian L. Wood, 57, of Thayer was traveling east on Park Street and was on the outside turn lane. Steven E. Dilley, 64, of Pana was also traveling east on Park Street. Wood attempted to change lanes to go straight. Wood struck Dilley, who was traveling next to Wood, causing damage. Both vehicles were able to leave the scene. No injuries were reported.

On April 16, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to Morton and Rich for a traffic crash involving a van and motorcycle. Upon arrival, Jack E. Powel, 77, of Decatur advised he was traveling east on Rich Street and Chase M. Windell, 23, of Taylorville struck the back of his vehicle. Windell advised he was traveling north on Morton Street and lost control of his motorcycle. He then struck the back of Powel. Officers noted that there was a very long skid mark on the pavement and there were grooves in the pavement from where the bike hit the pavement. The marks are on Morton Street south of Rich. Windell reported injuries that were not physically evident but denied medical attention.

On April 17, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to a two vehicle accident at West Main Cross and Madison. Patricia L. McDonald, 63, of Litchfield stated she stopped at the stop sign and proceeded into the intersection and did not see Carrington M, Walker, 23, of Taylorville. McDonald then struck Walker. Walker stated that McDonald pulled out in front of him and he could not avoid the collision. Walker stated that McDonald struck his vehicle. No injuries were reported.
