Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Announces 2014 Scholarship Winners

The Greater Taylorville Chamber of Commerce Education Committee is pleased to announce the selection of three Christian County high school seniors who will receive college scholarships beginning with the 2014 fall semester.

Recognized at the April 9 GTCC Board meeting were Morrisonville School senior, Hailey Samson; South Fork High School senior, Breanna Cluck; and Central A & M High School senior, William Morrell.

Hailey Samson, daughter of Charles and Jodi Samson of Morrisonville, will receive two full semesters of tuition from the University of Illinois at Springfield and plans to attain a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Work.

Breanna Cluck, daughter of Rick and April Cluck of Kincaid, will receive the Lincoln Land Community College scholarship, consisting of two full semesters of tuition and fees, and plans to major in Criminal Justice to achieve her goal of becoming a probation officer.

William Morrell, son of Mike and Michele Morrell, who is planning on pursuing a degree in meteorology, will receive two semesters of tuition from Richland Community College in Decatur.

Scholarship awardees and their parents will also be recognized at the GTCC Annual Banquet on Friday, May 2, 2014.
