Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 4-7-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Bryan C. Bock, 49, of 421 West Dunbar Apt 5, Blue Mound, was arrested April 5 for driving under the influence of alcohol.

William C. Duff, 54, of 319 Kennedy Street, Pana, was arrested April 4 for domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Candice L. Smith, 22, of 200 Carol Street #14, Pawnee, was arrested April 5 on a bond forfeiture for traffic control device violation 

John R. Castiaux, 44, of 131 1/2 South Livingston, Springfield, was arrested April 6 on a warrant for failure to appear/answer.

Deric D. Brown, 27, of 48 Fairview Court, Taylorville, was arrested April 6 on a bond forfeiture for the issuance of a warrant.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On April 4 at 12:39pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer observed an employee from Walgreens following a male in a limited mobility scooter. The officer knew the male to be Roger C. Hammond, 52, of Taylorville. The officer spoke to the manager who told the officer that Hammond had failed to pay for items and left the store. Hammond was arrested, processed and released.

On April 4, a Taylorville Police Department officer was advised of a dog attacking another dog at 903 West Vine Street. Following the investigation, a dog running at large city ordinance citation was issued to Annette Fank, 55, of Taylorville.

On April 5 at 12:26pm, while on patrol Taylorville Police Department officers noticed Jessica N. Tyson-Ragan, 23, of Taylorville driving a gold Toyota. Officers knew Tyson-Ragan to have a suspended driver's license. Officers made contact with Tyson-Ragan at 1212 West Pauline Street as she exited the vehicle. Officers arrested Tyson-Ragan for driving while license suspended. Tyson-Ragan was transported to Taylorville Police Department, processed, and released with a notice to appear.

On April 6, a Taylorville Police Department officer was on patrol in the area of Houston Street and Vandeveer Street. The officer observed Tasha Tirpak and Deric Brown, 27, of Taylorville get into a vehicle. The officer had dispatch run both subjects through the Law Enforcement Agencies Data System. It was found that Brown had a valid warrant out of Sangamon County. The officer stopped the vehicle at Market and Shumway. Following the investigation, Brown was arrested for possession of cannabis and a warrant. Brown was transported to Christian County Correctional Center in lieu of bond.

CRASHES:

On April 2nd, Tamara M. Crist, 55, of Taylorville was traveling north on Route 29, about 1 mile north of Lake Drive. A group of deer ran across the roadway. Crist was not able to avoid a collision and struck one of the deer causing damage. Crist was able to leave the scene. The deer took off from the area and was not located. No injuries were reported.
