Area Arrests/Crashes/Incidents 4-4-14

THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

Del L. Burkey, 19, of 820 East Oak Street, Taylorville, was arrested April 3 on a bond forfeiture for resisting a peace officer.

Joseph G. Beishir, 43, of 700 West Park Boulevard, Taylorville, was arrested April 3 for domestic battery.

 

THE TAYLORVILLE POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING ARRESTS:

On April 3 at 10:38pm, Taylorville Police Department officers were dispatched to Casey's West on a report of a domestic battery. Following the investigation, Joseph G. Beishir, 43, of Taylorville was arrested for domestic battery.

On April 3 at 6:51pm, a Taylorville Police Department officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle at Long and Vine. Following the stop, Del L. Burkey, 19, of Taylorville was arrested for a Christian County failure to appear warrant.

CRASHES:

On April 2, Alecia M. Grafton, 34, of Taylorville said she saw a green arrow and thought it was a green light and went through the intersection. Rosalie Morgan, 75, of Taylorville said she saw Grafton coming and tried to stop but could not stop in time to avoid hitting Grafton. No injuries reported.

On April 2, Shawn M. Mills, 35, of Taylorville was traveling west on Spresser Street and was stopped in traffic to turn south onto Houston. A 16-year-old female from Taylorville was also traveling west and was behind Mills. The female could not stop in time and struck Mills. Mills' vehicle had to be towed from the scene. Mills was transported to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries. A 6-year-old boy and a 3-year-old boy were also taken to Taylorville Memorial Hospital for treatment of injuries that were not physically evident. No other injuries were reported.
