THE CHRISTIAN COUNTY SHERIFF'S OFFICE REPORTS THE FOLLOWING;

ARRESTS:
Steven D. Leonard, 34, of 500 South Webster Street, Taylorville, was arrested January 8 on a bond forfeiture for contempt of court.

Richard W. Stephens, 48, of 405 North Monroe Street, Morrisonville, was arrested January 9 for driving on a revoked license.

ACCIDENTS:
On January 6, David M. Hill, 37, of Kincaid was north bound on County Highway 5 from Kincaid. The roadway was covered in snow with blowing and drifting snow. Hill was coming up a hill approximately 1/2 mile north of Ridge Street and the roadway was down to one open lane with drifting snow. As Hill went through a small drift, the vehicle was pulled to the right and into the snow bank causing damage to the front end. The vehicle was stuck and had to be towed from the scene. No injuries were reported.

THE PANA POLICE DEPARTMENT REPORTS THE FOLLOWING:

On January 1, Police were dispatched to 107 West Orange Street, Pana, regarding a stolen iPod and GPS from a parked vehicle. The case is under further investigation.

On January 7, Derrick J. Osborn, 29, of Tower Hill was southbound on 2600 East Road and stopped at the stop sign at Route 16. S. Jean Miller, 60, of Altamont was following Osborn. Miller slid on the ice covered road and hit the rear of Osborn. No injuries reported.

On January 8, Janet Hicks reported the theft of a laptop computer from 303 East 2nd Street (Library). Theft occurred sometime between December 20 and January 7. Case is under investigation.
